Clergy at St. John's

Reverend Allison Courey
Interim Priest - In - Charge
Hello St. John's!
I'm Allison Courey, and I'll be your interim priest for the next few months. I've filled in at many churches over my 12 ordained years, and I'm looking forward to spending a longer chunk of time with your community. My background is in communications, children's ministry, and cultural studies. My passion is living along the edges of the church, looking for who is missing at the table, and finding Jesus in unexpected places (I recently did a guinea pig funeral for a grade one class!)
I live in Hamilton with my two children: Adeline is 6 and Fern is 4. When I'm not with them or with you, I am gardening, sewing, or somewhere close to trees. I grew up in a farming community and was ordained in Rupert's Land, a small and predominantly rural diocese. Val Kerr was a big part of how I ended up in the Diocese of Niagara, after she invited me at General Synod a decade ago.
I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and the gifts you bring to your community. I plan to be in town on Tuesdays or Wednesdays each week. Please come introduce yourself!
